Upcoming In-Person Classes
SOIL’s In-Person Classes offer experiential learning in the unique living laboratory of Earthaven Ecovillage. Classes at Earthaven are informed by over 26 years of experience with village life in an intentional community dedicated to sustainability, education and activism.
You’ll have the chance to learn, live, work and laugh alongside our pioneering residents in a biologically diverse forested mountain setting.
Join us for Earthaven Ecovillage Experience Week and really get to know the village and residents with a service learning component as we continue to build infrastructure and realize the Earthaven permaculture vision. A shorter Visitor Weekend is also available.
We also offer in-person and virtual tours of Earthaven Ecovillage.

Upcoming Classes

An annual outdoor conference for educators, parents, administrators, camp staff, and therapists. The program is based on forest schools, wilderness awareness, and early childhood education, and is a program of the Academy of Forest Kindergarten Teachers with CEUs available.

Join us for dinner and an evening of storytelling with well-known naturalist and humorist Doug Elliott. Enjoy Doug’s strange but true adventures in the natural world with a few soulful harmonica tunes and more than a few belly laughs.

Join the homesteads, farms, and businesses of Earthaven Ecovillage for a hands-on, skill-building immersion in sustainable and climate-resilient community life. A residential service learning immersion in our unique community laboratory.

Our annual event focused on Nonviolent Communication, featuring classes and experiential learning. An experience designed to foster compassion and connection in our hearts, communities and world, and to spread the seeds of justice and love.

Join us for a dynamic weekend of learning and growing in community! This experiential workshop, led by expert facilitator Sarah Taub and her team, will help you to develop skills and practices for cultivating healthy relationships, with a special emphasis on consent, courage, and compassion.

This service-learning program introduces participants in the community life of Earthaven Ecovillage. The class gives participants an inside look at the radical social and ecological experimentation that has taken place in this land-based community over the past 25 years.

In this retreat, we will draw on the work of Deep Ecology and The Work That Reconnects to ground into our ecological identities, and the practice of yoga to integrate the work into our bodies. We will spiral through the 4 stages of The Work: Coming from Gratitude, Honoring our Pain for the World, Seeing with New Eyes, and Going Forth.

Tours are a great entry point into learning the history, purpose, and development of Earthaven Ecovillage. These tours are designed to provide a deeper understanding about living in community as well as the strategies and solutions possible for doing things another way.
