North Carolina Ecovillage Tour

Nine-day Tour of North Carolina Intentional Communities

September 8 – 15

Starting at Earthaven Ecovillage
Near Asheville, NC

Embark on an eight-day adventure that takes you through the Appalachian region of Western North Carolina — from the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains to the rolling hills of the Piedmont Region — all while exploring working models of community living and sustainability.

This expedition offers an unparalleled opportunity to explore a variety of established ecovillages, each with its distinct approach to ecological building, permaculture, renewable energy, and cooperative culture. This tour isn’t just about observing — it’s about experiencing what it means to live in greater connection with nature and each other.

This tour is organized and led by communities speaker, educator, and consultant Cynthia Tina. For more information and to register see the North Carolina Tour web page. Use the coupon EARTHAVEN for a $100 discount!

Meet Your Guide, Cynthia Tina

Cynthia founded Ecovillage Tours because she wanted more people to travel with her to ecovillages, experiencing ways of living that are both sustainable and fun! She has visited more than 150 intentional communities around the world, including the Vermont ecovillage where she lives in her self-built passive solar home.

When not global-trotting to ecovillages with interesting groups of people, Cynthia works as the “community matchmaker” and director of CommunityFinders, offering programs to help people join and start intentional communities.

Formerly the co-director, Cynthia is now a spokesperson and educator with the Foundation for Intentional Community. She’s a former trustee of the Global Ecovillage Network and former director of the youth ecovillage network, NextGEN North America. She holds a degree in Sustainability from Goddard College, as well as certificates in Permaculture and Ecovillage Design, and Yoga Teacher Training.
