Place-Based Living at Earthaven Ecovillage

An Overview of Our Regenerative Systems

Self-paced Online Course

Visitors to Earthaven Ecovillage are often surprised to hear that we are not yet fully sustainable or 100% self-sufficient. This online workshop helps define the context and describe the journey of moving from a consumer culture to a land-based, place-based life.

This course looks at the actual lived experiences of the over 29 years of village building through examining our homes, power, water, and waste systems, and especially our food and medicine. Compare and contrast the concepts of self-reliance, interdependence, permaculture, sustainability, resilience, regeneration when it comes to whole systems design.

This workshop is part of series of courses about Earthaven infrastructure with Lee Warren. This course explores the permaculture ethic of earth care in the creation and life at Earthaven.

This course was a good overview of how Earthaven got started. Lee Warren led the course well. She clearly has a thorough grasp of all the layers of interrelationship between all the systems and people that make Earthaven successful. She is an excellent communicator.
