Want to feel more resourced and connected in life?
Curious about tapping into the benevolent universe to feel more supported?
Interested in cultivating more receptivity to communications from the unseen world?

Extraordinary Realities offers an experiential introduction to the essentials of compassionate spirit relationship, communication, healing, and divination. The workshop is based on the practice of shamanic journeying, which can lead to a more integrated, empowered, and sustainable life with direct access to divine healing and wisdom. These experiences are intended to increase communion with all our relations — whether two legged, four legged, winged, plant based, or beyond any conception we may have of who we can relate to.

This program is for adults and mature teens.

Wolves howling at the moon

I’m so grateful to Earthaven for hosting this program. I was looking for a chance to explore shamanic practice in community and this was perfect. Peter presented a variety of guided practice sessions, each with a different focus, and all followed by Q&A and reflection. I walked away with a notebook full of tools and practices to take home and explore on my own. Peter was a fantastic teacher — highly recommend him and this program for anyone looking to deepen their practice.

What do we mean by shamanism and shamanic practices?

It’s an egalitarian approach to relating to the world that recognizes the importance of the consciousness and intelligence within all organisms, even beyond biological organisms. It’s a way of relating that goes beyond ordinary human relations that is somatic — a felt experience.

Shamanic practices are about enhancing our empowerment through the partnership with spirits.

Extraordinary Realities focuses on interacting with animal and human form spirits that transcend physical experience. Working with practices of guardianship — enlisting spirit help, clearing spaces of questionable energies, and establishing boundaries around ritual, communal, and personal space — we will invoke and befriend the benevolent spirits while establishing protection from the wayward or malefic influences. We hold compassionate spirits as relatable manifestations of the Divine that offer wisdom and healing beyond ordinary human capacity. In the partnerships developed between each person and their helping spirits, great positive change can be brought into our lives and world – bringing us closer to each other and more in alignment with the rest of the natural world. The result can be an integrated, essential and transcendent spiritual practice, keeping us grounded in our full humanity and expansive in our minds and hearts.  It is work capable of bringing the evolutionary unfoldment of the divine for the greatest good for all.

This workshop is based on the common elements of many shamanic cultures, rather than any one indigenous tradition. Participants will learn a spiritual practice, not a philosophy, theory, or religion. This shamanic practice is complementary to whatever beliefs one holds – be it Christianity, Buddhism, Paganism, Animism, or even Atheism. Anthropological and archaeological evidence from all five of earth’s continents indicate the presence of shamanic practice through pre-history and into the current era. Shamanic practice is the birthright of all people and has been a part of normative consciousness for the majority of human history.

I had no expectations going in and only elementary knowledge about shamanism and shamanic journeying. I learned so much! And better yet, experienced so much. A coming back to more of myself through a beautiful ancient practice. Highly recommend Peter as a practitioner/facilitator. A wonderful blend of grounded and compassionate energy.

Program

The workshop runs from 9:30 am to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Fifteen minute breaks at mid-morning and mid-afternoon are planned, as well as a 60-75 minute lunch break each day.

Each day includes experiences within shamanic journey trance states that include knowledge expansion, spiritual healing, and compassionate divination.  Like a horse transporting one through a landscape, the Drum will take us on a sonic pilgrimage into the places we’re longing to go. Each practice includes time for writing of the experience and verbal sharing within the group.

I found this workshop to be extremely powerful. It opened in me a way of interacting with myself and my associated spirits that I had only dreamed about before. I feel that a whole world was just opened for me and with that a deep sense of empowerment to heal and grow as a person, as well as receive guidance from my helpers.

Financial Co-responsibility and Scholarships

Because some people have more financial means than others, we have created a sliding-scale fee system to accommodate a range of economic realities. We offer several price tiers and leave it to you to select the most appropriate tier. The price range aims to take into consideration economic disparities, historical injustices, and personal circumstances. The system is designed for those with more resources to support those with less.

At Earthaven and through the School of Integrated Living (SOIL), we strive to practice a culture of financial transparency, authenticity, and generosity. Trusting each other to assess their needs, what is within their ability, and when to ask for help. We are excited to include you in our experiment with financial co-responsibility.

We are now offering self-selected scholarships for many of our programs. No proof of need, no questions asked. Just the clear intention of trust that registrants can assess whether the cost of a program is truly a barrier to attendance and the growth of self and community our programs seek to foster.

In addition, we offer partial scholarships (50% of the middle of the sliding scale) to black, indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) with financial needs who otherwise would not be able to afford to attend, even with the self-selected scholarships. We understand that BIPOC may experience more financial and institutional barriers to participation, and this is one way we are able to create more access. If you identify as BIPOC with financial needs and would like to receive a deeper scholarship, please contact us.

SOIL endeavors to support the healthy flow of all resources; whether that be monetary or the skills and information that seed cultural change; and widen the doors of accessibility to what we offer.
