Compassionate Communication in Community

NVC for Better Relationships

Eight weekly sessions

Online

Want easier and more satisfying relationships in your life?

Excited about living or working cooperatively?

Ready to move beyond painful conflict to powerful collaboration?

Interpersonal communication is a core skill for individual and collective success. Every group or community needs to have the social and emotional intelligence and skills commensurate to its level of proximity and interdependence. The closer you are living together or sharing power, the more you need to be skilled in communicating effectively.

Nonviolent communication (NVC) is the best combination of theory and practice that Steve has come across in his 40+ years of cooperative living and his exploration of dozens of psychological and spiritual systems.

The practice of nonviolent communication provides:

  • Emotional literacy for effective communication and relationship building
  • Empathy and honesty for building relationships and working through conflict
  • Reclaiming our natural desire to live cooperatively and enrich each others’ lives
  • Perceiving and relating out of the awareness that we all have the same needs and that conflict is always about a difference in strategies rather than a difference in needs
  • Powerful skills for creating inner peace and sustainable relationships that empower people to create a more beautiful world

Steve’s class has inspired me so much and given me the tools to unlearn the harmful habits of my culture while providing me with a clear path towards a self-responsible life where I get to honor my truth and have deeper intimacy with my loved ones. I really appreciate Steve’s authenticity, vulnerability, and presence and highly recommend his classes to anyone interested in living a more connected life.
